Door Hinge
When I was a kid in the late 80s/early 90s, orange was my favorite flavor. And color, too. Between Ecto Cooler, the Summerslam logo and theme, Hardees, Halloween, Flintstones Push Pops, Nickelodeon and about 472 GI Joe’s adorned in orange, it’s kind of easy to see why. It’s still a favorite color of mine that just reminds me of summer and when you’re a kid, summer is always the best time of the year. Which is why I associate drinking a nice, cold orange soda on hot day in July to joy. In fact to this day, if I see a nice fizzy orange soda in a glass bottle at the store, I’m more likely to grab that than anything else. That’s saying a lot for Pepsi fanatic, too. I’m no CM Punk but heaven help you if you offer me a Coca Cola along with my chicken wings and fries.
I didn’t know you could have a comfort color but here we are. For better or worse, I love orange and I think orange loves me? Ok perhaps that’s a little much. I think I’m so used to writing in hyperbole on my other blog for 15 years that sometimes I forget I don’t need to be “on”. Anyway, orange is great.
Maybe we all need to embrace more warm, happy, positive “comfort colors” these days. The world is so gray, miserable and upsetting at times. Who knows, maybe we WERE on to something with all that neon madness in the late 80s/early 90s after all. I don’t know, you guys. I’m not an expert on colors and moods, but I can tell you from experience that orange is pretty awesome and will always bring a smile to my face.
