It’s a Hershey Chocolate World In The Summer

Just a few weeks ago, my girlfriend and I attended Horror On Main, a horror convention in Harrisburg, PA. A very nice, quiet relaxed convention with some great guests including Mick Garris, Annabeth Gish, Harry Manfredini and many more. We had a great time but once the spookiness was over and done with, we needed food, so we stopped at a Fuddruckers nesrbye and it was worth not really eating too much that whole day.

AND THEN THE MAIN EVENT, BABY! WE HOPPED OVER TO HERSHEY CHOCOLATE WORLD AT HERSHEY PARK!

Now, in all my years of being in this beautiful world, I had never been to Hershey Park. I’ve been to the Hershey store in NYC and even Niagara Falls, but never the town, the theme park of the store. So this was a big event for both me and my girlfriend.

I didn’t take a ton of photos inside the store itself but let me tell you it is MUCH bigger than I would’ve expected! Beautiful too!  It was really nice to see it with my very eyes and by “it”, I’m of course referring to all the chocolate goodness. Oh and a giant Reese’s Cup in the corner taking photos with families and kids and of course me.

By the way, I wore a SummerSlam 1993 shirt and got a LOT of compliments on it from what seemed to be dads my age. The Lex Express is still running in Hershey!

But friends, let me tell you, the big draw for me was their famous Stuff Your Cup. A little station where one of the awesome workers takes a huge Reese’s Cup shell and fills it with delicious you know what: Peanut butter aka HAPPINESS. You can add lots of other fillings too like pretzels, Reese’s puffs cereal, potato chips and so much more. It was pretty overwhelming but I’ve hoped to make it happen for a long time. Shout out to my pals Lindz and Jason Liebig for putting the idea in my head and making sure it’s all I thought of for a while. I had considered heading up to Times Square to get one of these for my birthday and Thanksgiving multiple times and it just never worked out but I’m so glad it worked out this round.

Thar she glows…big chocolatey and peanut buttery goodness that wouldn’t stand a chance in my apartment…

A pound of happiness and joy…and probably way too much sugar but hey this was a big event and I was not going to just sit back and not take the opportunity to finally get my Cup! It was perfect. I got Reese’s Pieces, Pretzels, and Peanut Butter and chocolate sauces on top before it was sealed up. This will definitely become a new favorite in my house. I can definitely see making the quick train ride up to the city for one of these bad boys again in the future.

Of course it only last two days but it was worth the wait.

RIP Cup
Thank you for the love you brought into this world. And into my stomach,
I’ll make sure I carry your memory with me wherever I go.
